There are many people around the world that suffer from high blood sugar levels. diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the blood sugar levels are significantly increased. But people with diabetes aren’t the only ones who should be worried about the high blood sugar levels. In fact, everyone should be careful with the blood sugar levels. It is very important, because increased blood sugar levels in healthy person for longer period of time could lead to development of diabetes and other serious health issues. Everyone should know that some ingredients can increase the blood sugar levels, not only candies, cookies, juices and similar sweetened products.

High Blood Sugar Levels – Most Common Factors

First, you should know that you can experience warning symptoms and signs of increased blood sugar levels, like gaining weight (even if you are trying to lose some weight), feeling hungry all the time, stomach problems, etc. These are the most common factors that can contribute to increased blood sugar levels:

  • Stress
  • Unhealthy diet
  • Certain medications
  • Poor physical activity
  • Some health problems

First, you need to know that high blood sugar level is nothing more than a symptom of diabetes.  It doesn’t mean that if you have increased blood sugar levels that you are suffering from diabetes. Sometimes, people don’t experience these symptoms. The most common symptoms of increased blood sugar levels are:

  • Stomach problems
  • Impotency
  • Slower healing of cuts and wounds
  • Constant feeling of hunger
  • Itchy and dry skin
  • Frequent urination and urination during the night
  • Poor concentration
  • Problems with nerves
  • Blurred vision
  • Frequent infections
  • Extra stomach fat/ gaining weight
  • Daily fatigue or extreme tiredness

Use This Glycemic List of Foods In Order To Reduce the Symptoms of High Blood Sugar Levels

Glycemic index (GI) measures how some specific food that contains high levels of carbohydrates can increase the blood sugar levels. The Glycemic Index is a numerical Index that ranks carbohydrates based on their rate of glycemic response (i.e. their conversion to glucose within the human body). The food with higher GI increases the blood sugar levels much more than the foods with medium or low GI. The GI scale goes from 0-100. You should also know that the food with high GI is digested faster than the food with low GI. You can prevent or stop symptoms of high blood sugar simply by eating food with low GI.
